The rental market in northern New Jersey, while not as tight as in New York City, does cause corps members to invest a considerable amount of time in finding housing. Corps members live in different types of housing in a variety of communities–urban and suburban alike. Some rent self-contained apartments within multi-family homes, with occasional access to a yard or driveway, while others live in apartment complexes. These can range from high-rise towers to two-story apartment communities, known as "garden style" apartments. Roughly 40-50 percent of corps members live with other corps members.
